Lamictal memory loss reddit

The memory problems are extremely common. Every medication comes with some side effects. Just gotta ask yourself - are the benefits of Lamictal worth the downsides, such as the memory issues and hair loss.

Lamictal and memory loss My daughter is and is on 525mg a day of Lamictal for her Epilepsy. She was seizure free for months on it and then in August she had seizures, they increased her lamictal dose. I started taking Lamictal earlier this year and am currently taking 2mg daily.

Memory loss was one of the first side effects I noticed. I wonder what the long term effects will be. Lamictal , depakote, zonisamide, back to lamictal and quite honestly memory loss is something I have experienced with all of them.

I still believe depakote has worked the best for me in terms of controlling my seizures. I was reading on here that a bad seizure can cause memory loss but I also read that Lamictal could cause memory loss also. It had been going perfectly until recently, it really really helps with my mood and it has honestly saved my life considering how poorly I was doing before. Anyway, I think that may have something (if not a lot) to do with my memory loss.

Bipolar disorder itself can cause cognitive or memory problems.

My doc upped lamictal 1mg (taking 300mg now) a while back and since then I have short term memory loss. I took trazodone for a few days! Has anyone who is taking Lamictal encountered slight memory loss or confusion? I had a very bad week last week and while teaching, I made several errors in what I was writing on the board. I have been on 100mg and today will begin 150mg.

Some things just dont sound right in my head even if i know they are. The main fibers in the brain that are targeted by this medication is the corpus callosum. Now does it effect memory ? If the medication interferes with the hippocampus or limbic system, then memory might be alter. Selected from data included with permission and copyrighted by First Databank, Inc. Loss of sensory memory and bipolar: Sensory memory is the retention of stimulus received through our senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. Sensory perception is sometimes disturbed during bipolar disorder, for example the hallucinations experienced in bipolar psychosis. However, this is not the same as a loss of sensory memory.

I am on Lamictal , Cytomel, and Seroquel. I was just taken off of Prozac because it induced a hypomanic episode. My memory has always been very good.

I am taking 6mg a day of lamictal for almost a year but I am also taking Dilanton 2mg day.

My seizures are under control now but noticed my short term memory has gotten worse. How common are the really awful side effects of Lamictal ? Like life-threatening rash, memory loss , uncoordination? So my depression has been in remission for quite some time now, which is great. Morning, 2mg Wellbutrin, 1mg Lamictal - Evening, 2mg Wellbutrin, 1mg Lamictal , mg Lexapro.
