How to help your girlfriend through depression

How do you help a friend that has depression? How you can support a person with depression? And build your own support systefriends, family, hobbies, community.


I feel being with someone who has depression can be incredibly. Just be there for her and let her know you love her and that she can always talk to you and have her explain what about it stresses her out. The best thing you can do is encourage her to see a doctor about it because it can be treated.

In these situations, you can only listen. I just want someone to listen to me. Practice small acts of kindness. Help her find relaxing and positive activities.


Tell her that your feelings for her are separate from her depression. Point out her strengths. Offer to help out with little. Hold her hand through it.

She needs a strong support system in her life, especially the rough days. Stick to her, she needs you the most at her worst. She finds the future challenging, but she dreams to share your life with you no matter the hardships.


Only play the role of the partner. Support her healing strategies. Turn the conversation to something optimistic. Let her know how you love her. Understand her triggers and avoid setting.


Play your part and help her get proper treatment. Don’t try to rush things when she is getting treatment. Find some support in friends and family members. Engage in productive activities with her.
