I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s cancer diagnosis and treatment. Given that you deal with depression and anxiety, I know that your mom’s health undoubtedly makes this worse. You don’t care anymore about former hobbies, pastimes, and social activities you used to enjoy. Appetite changes often leading to significant weight loss or weight gain.

Other symptoms, such as sleep and psychomotor disturbances, feelings of guilt, low self-esteem, suicidal tendencies, as well as autonomic and gastrointestinal disturbances, are also often present.

Feeling angry, agitate restless. Decreased energy, fatigue, or feeling “slowed down”. Those symptoms might include: Fatigue or loss of energy almost every day. Impaired concentration, indecisiveness. Insomnia or hypersomnia (excessive sleeping) almost every day.

Markedly diminished interest or pleasure in almost all activities. Late-life depression affects about million Americans ages and older. But only receive treatment for depression.
