Systematized amnesia

Continuous amnesia is the term used for when the person has no memory of each new event which they experience. This disorder is characterized by a blocking out of critical personal information. This view is consistent with the one from neurologically-linked forms of amnesia. In many cases, it is a reaction to a traumatic.


It may be localized (inability to recall events during a circumscribed time), selective (can recall only some aspects of an event), continuous (ongoing amnesia following a specific event), or systematized (inability to recall certain categories of events). In systematized amnesia , a person only forgets a category of information in some way associated with a trauma, like forgetting everything about a certain person, or a specific location, even if it was a significant part of their life.
