If you are depressed you are living in the past. Lao Tzu also attributed to Junia Bretas (see comments for details) What does that mean? This fake Lao Tzu quote has been accredited to Warren Buffet, the billionaire, and to the Brazilian motivational speaker Junia Bretas.
Suddenly, all the broken pieces fell into place. Good humor is a tonic for mind and body. It attracts and keeps friends.
It is a business asset. It lightens human burdens. People tend to dwell more on negative things than on good things. This article focuses on differences between anxiety and depression.
The first study is concerned with the timing ( past , present, future ) of negative events associated with high levels of anxiety and depression in normal participants. Depression was associated more with past events than future events, whereas the opposite was the case with anxiety. In essence, we are denying reality an in doing so, causing ourselves a great deal of pain. The Past Produces Pain Tolle explains that too frequently ruminating on the past causes feelings of depression , guilt, and self-loathing.
These quotes give us inspiration for our fight to overcome depression and anxiety.
Deepak Chopra “Smile, breathe, and go slowly. Thich Nhat Hanh “You don’t have to control your thoughts. You just have to stop letting them control you. They are on a continuum of negative thinking and any given person can express either, at any given time, depending on what they are going through.

The past could always be annihilated. Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. The components of anxiety , stress, fear, and anger do not exist independently of you in the world. They simply do not exist in the physical worl even though we talk about them as if they do.
If you live in fear of the future because of what happened in your past, you’ll end up losing what you have in the present. Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future.
