For someone who is depressed , even the easy parts of life require effort. It is hard work to reside in the darker parts of yourself. It takes great courage to admit you’re broken or to seek help. While growing up, boys learn what it means to “be a man.
Unfortunately, some of these “manly” teachings can be downright harmful like “big boys don’t cry,” “suck it up,” “tough it out,” and more. If you find this a little hard to believe then read these stories to know that your strength can sometimes be the main reason you get depressed and not your weakness. This is the blueprint of a predator.
Predators prey on gentleness, peace, calmness, sweetness and any positivity that they sniff out as weakness. Anything that is happy and at peace they mistake for weakness. Depression , anxiety and panic attacks are not signs of weakness…. Reach out to someone you trust.
That’s the scary thing about depression: humans can survive just about anything as long as we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was afraid of depression medication because I thought it meant I was weak.
