Is there a difference in major depression and depression?
Is major depression a mental illness? How is major depression treated? Major depression is a serious mental illness in which a person experiences multiple depressive symptoms for at least two weeks. Other types of depression include: Bipolar disorder , alternating episodes of emotional highs (mania) and lows ( depression ). Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression , it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. Major or clinical depression is a serious but treatable illness.
